This is a sliding door.
Our house is flanked on either side by two-sets of them.
I'd clean them every weekend if I had the time. The curtains are original and brittle.
Oddly, despite the windows, the place looks pretty dark.
Windows. Windows. Everywhere.
There's a teenager.
There's some Bitossi. But not enough, say the windows. "Get some more Bitossi, why don'cha?" they cry. I reply, "I would if I could."
Here are some good looking kids.
And here's a leopard tree which is a favourite early-morning playground for parikeets who love its leafy realms.
Majestic.
Fin.

Your house and everything in it (including the Solids) is beautiful Carmel.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kylie. Beauty being in the eye of the beholder! There's some mess behind the scenes, but the windows are clean!
DeleteI've been waiting for some inside photos. Those sliding glass doors are tear inducing. They don't make them like that anymore. If they did, I'd have to sell my first born to afford them. Love the Bitossi! What handsome young lads, they are growing too fast. Your house is my dream house. Still waiting on the permits for our build. Will it ever happen, I ask myself daily.
ReplyDeleteJ, I'll post more photos when I clean up, There are toys everywhere so it's not Vogue magazine here! I love the sound of the sliding doors and they're heaviness. They're the home equivalent of a Mercedes Benz car door (heavy and makes a great sound on shutting).
DeletePS Your house will eventuate. It has too!! Thanks for still reading after so many years.
DeleteWhat an amazing house you have! The sliding doors on both sides of the house are magnificent, and your furniture and decorations are true to the period. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you Neen, Lovely comment. Thanks for being a loyal reader. Love you ladies!
DeleteThe windows, the trees, the Bitossi, the kids...all fantistic! Those SGDs are so grown up now!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are grown up. I don't know what to get them for Christmas. They're not into toys any more (except for Martha and she has everything). It's all i-pads and sport and bikes now.
DeleteYour place is so gorgeous. I'm going to have to invite myself over one of these days!! xx
ReplyDeleteI'll get you over. I'll have to get the whole gang over but really, it's not as perfect as I'd like it ... I should do a post on the hideous bits.
DeleteDitto on the loss of toys as a Christmas staple. Now they want SLR cameras and the like. I am slowly letting all the toys go into the universe (aka op shop) just to get space. Your sliders are as solid gold as your gold solids. We were supposed to be getting such things from the door place but it has taken so long that I have lost interest and my husband has started to use the B word. (bifolds)!!!! Time for patio frocks sometime soon and I'll bring the devils on horseback or maybe just leave them at home with their father and his dodgy doors!
ReplyDeleteOur 60's home has lots of windows too, I love the light from them, but boy, do they take a lot of cleaning!! xx
