1968 Australian home. Some Ruska. Teak furniture. Native Australian gardens. Splashes of Marimekko. Rimini blue Bitossi. 50s, 60s and 70s homes. House plants and succulents. Woody Allen. The occasional appearance by some Solid Gold Dancers. That's what you'll find here. And lashings of chutzpah thrown-in for good measure. Pull up a Suekichi Uchida and make yourself at home.

Magpie
Every morning this little fellow comes down for a feed. All we have to do is make a 'clicking' sound and he comes running. We feed him bits of bread and soldier fly grubs from the worm farm. If you think he's cute and you're on Instagram I suggest you check out the Penguinthemagpie feed. Adorable.

He is cute! Does he sing beautifully? I remember vaguely that Australian magpies do.
ReplyDeleteChristina, I haven't heard him sing. I've seen him oddly roll on the grass like a puppy?! Magpies do have a nice warble. It's the Butcher Birds' songs I love the best. They look like magpies but are smaller.
DeleteHow cool that he will come when you call him! The kids must love that.
ReplyDeleteSolid Gold Dancer 2 & 4 love it. They call me when he's on the yard. We can recognise him because he has one white claw. Hope the house is going well. You're boys will make lots of little discoveries like this one over the next few months!
