The Cul De Sac - Munro House

A second house in the cul de sac, is Munro House, designed by Ian Munro in 1980.

My tour was lucky enough to have Mr Munro (who is still living in the house with the lovely Mrs Munro) give us a guided tour.

The house is nestled in a perfect mess of Australian Natives that stretched from the footpath to the front door.

Built around magnificent Eucalypts, this house was constructed with steel poles and large plate-glass windows which I think, for the site and design of the house, were quite a feat at the time.

Above is a lush Fraser Island Creeper ... only found in eastern Australia. Marvellous.

The two-storeyed house still boasts original built-in cabinetry and its Pirelli rubber flooring has stood the test of time.

Walls of high windows allow light to flood-in from above.

Downstairs revealed an architect's lair ...

Great heights are perfect for a Calder mobile ...

And there's one floating above.
