Unchallenged.

I re-visited the house I have been fixated on. I exercised my ballot and decided it was a bit too small, and slightly hobbled-together on the interior and would require some substantial work to bring it up to standard.

It was not easy for me to turn my back. But with deep breaths, we move on in search for other sunken lounges, brown tiles and heavy-use of timber.

Today was all about the Solid Gold Dancers and bringing them up-to-speed.

Dentist.

Followed by head x-rays.

Food Court.

Optometrist.

(Here's a tip for young players: Don't take a child to the Optometrist who can't read.
Leads to all sorts of confusion for everyone concerned.)

And I am itching to get back to Target Indooroopilly.

It's kids' clothes department is a knock-out.

  1. Are all those kiddlywinks yours? Shame about the house, but there will always be others. Dan is obsessed with one day building a house with what he calls a 'womb room' which, from what I can gather from his ambiguous explanation, essentially means a sunken lounge.

    1. Dear Edwina,
yes, they're mine. There's only four but true to Solid Gold Dancer style, they move about the dance floor with much fluidity and noise that it seems they add-up to many more. Thanks about the house. I've already found another replacement replete with cork floors. I've also read sunken lounges being described as 'conversation pits'. They're the next BIG thing. I can see Laidley going beserk for them!

  2. When one sunken lounge falls, another shall rise (or be more sunken...you know what I mean). Sad that it wasn't right. Good to hear you already found a replacement. I love Edwina's term 'womb room' - gold. You had a very busy day with the Solid Gold Dancers! Target has some great clothes. x

  3. Funny, I have to go to the dentist and to the optometrist too, and took appointments in the same day to save time. I'm my very own solid gold dancer. Too bad I'm not blond and in primary school. But I could still buy myself some Moomin stuff I think.
I'm glad you found another house. What could I do to buy a house? Become a lawyer? Become Australian?

  4. Quite the fun day out by the looks! Sorry about the house, nice to have the opportunity to wait for something that exactly suits though. Something will crop up. Thank God we've avoided the optometrist until this point (touch wood).

  5. Glad you got that house out of your system. There will be other, better ones.
All four of us had dental appointments recently, appointments that funnily enough, all had to be cancelled because each of us found better things to do. No-ones escaping though (including me! I hate going to the dentist)

  6. Your dream house is right around the corner. Emo Solid Gold is looking very lively these days. They are happy children, they must like the dentist. Not so much for me.

    Conversation pits! I remember!

  7. It's easier to wait for the perfect house when you realize that the one you were obsessing about really wasn't as perfect as you had imagined. The right one is out there, and you'll find it in good time.

What a busy day for you and the Solid Gold dancers. The dentist is on the list for my grandsons soon too.

  8. I hope all decisions of dentist/optometrist were good.
You could well have taken them to a waiting room psychiatrist.

  9. How exciting that you have the itch! I must have missed something but will immediately back track!
Love the girls' Salt waters. I'd get them for mine but they are so resistant to shoes that i fear it would not be money well spent. ferals!
Target Indro is on my list. There is just no time and no parking at Indro. Mind you they took the other one away from Brookside so I'll have to venture back over to Indro. See you there in the holidays!

  10. When you find your perfect womb room, you will know, the next word you will utter is Sold! Love the kids, I want to squish them! xx

    1. Sara, they do come in adults' sizes. I have a pair. All sorts of colours. Google 'saltwaters'. I think they're American.
