i-phone you look easy, but you're not

I was dressed ready for work today, but winter's been brutal and has struck hard at the only child-minding plan I have.

Korean H is down-and-out-for-the-count, so I had to stay home and get changed into some denim.

We said good-bye to Finnish K at the bus-stop. She's possibly flying over your head (in a plane) on her way back to Helsinki.

I finnished this book. Another tear-jerker that makes me worried about getting old and thinking I've let people and things slip by.

I made some blueberry muffins.

And I made a skinny video on the i-phone.

It's taking me a long time to get the hang of the dang thing.

  1. You've only had it couple of days, non? I think you're doing pretty well - you've found instagram!! It won't take long. You're not loving it yet then?

Martha (cute Martha) - I'm going to do nothing tomorrow.

Carmel - your voice!! The big reveal. I'm not sure how I thought you'd sound, but you sound exactly like you!! xxx

    1. I have found instagram and I think I may have followed you, but I have no idea how it works from there. I asked the i-phone merchant where the instructions were and she laughed a techno-laugh and said, "There's no instructions. It's all on the Net."

Voice sounds a bit funny and it seems as if I don't know my daughter's name.

    1. I hope H doesn't literally perk-up either! I'm getting the hang of instagram but not the hash-tag concept yet. And I think I'll fall into the trap of taking boring photos!

  3. SarahB,
I don't know what to do with instagram. I'm going to have to download some instructions. I've plied H with flu tablets, a hot water bottle, green tea, apple juice and mandarins. I'm hoping that's the ticket!

  5. I lOve my iPhone. The dude at the apple store in chermside who served me was called Ace. But he gave me one tip. To close all your apps just double click the little button and your opened app icons appear on the bottom of the screen. And then put your finger on the first icon for about 3 sec and a minus sign shows on all the app icons. You click on it to close everything. It saves battery power. xx

    1. The i-phones battery power is short-lived isn't it?

I might try your tip. Thanks Ace!

    1. Finnish K just came back to Brisbane to fly home. She's been travelling around the country since she left us. She's seen more of Australia now than I have!

  7. Get Martha to show you how the i-phone works.
Children seem to be born with computer-savvy fingers.
    Good luck to your fingers.
Korean H has caught the school children wog very quickly.
I have this LONG PINK dress I knitted for Martha.
It would certainly fit Korean H and keep out the winter blues.

  8. hearing your voice and martha's makes me want to jump on a plane and come to you. Now that K is back in Europe and H is sick, me and the furry babies could help out. I want and iPhone too. If only it wasn't that pricey.
I just drooled over your last posts...mid century homes and (WHAAAT???) mid century MINIATURE HOMES!! Oh, please. That'a a little too much for my weak heart. Sometimes I regret living in a country cottage because my love for scandinavian design doesn't really fit in. Not that I can afford it right now, and not that I really care about things not fitting in. I'll just by the tulip table and chairs and the Eames rocking chairs and hasta la vista.

  9. I think you can work M-C into a country cottage. Sometimes I think that's where M-C works best, outside of a M-C house ... sometimes the one theme can be a bit overkill.

Didn't you once have a tulip table and your mum turfed it? Sorry to bring up bad memories ...

    1. yes, she had the whole thing. We also had a grundig white television on a tulip stand. Our living room was all about tulips. Now I am sad. I need a trip to ikea, at least.

  10. I'm with you on the instagram...I need to get onto this it sounds cool. Loved your comment about Frankie. I should have put a photo of him as a one year old in his pj's and red dressing gown. I still say to him when he is annoying me to go and put on his red dressing gown....of course he says...Mum it doesn't fit me!! I still remember how it and his fluffy blonde hair felt when he sat on my lap. I love seeing your children it brings it all back to me. Martha is the cutest girl in all of blog world. XX
