Holidays

My holidays are now over. I'm very sad, because we all had such a great time.

We spent Korean H's last day in the City traipsing through the streets ...

and Art Gallery and Museum and generally soaking-up the festive Brisbane feel.

It was so sad to see her go. To me she was like an eldest daughter, and to the children she was their big sister and playmate. She came to us as a shy young lady and left confident in her English and her ability managing a handful of rambunctiousness.

When she left, we diverted our attention to swimming, and Christmas and generally loafing about in the sun.

Bum crease. Love it.

Holiday reading ...

Holiday constructing  ...

Holiday walking and soaking-up the hot beach weather.

We had such a lovely time this Christmas that I'm going to put my nose to the grindstone for the next 12 months so we can do it all again next year - maybe for a little bit longer.

With a bit of Mid-Century thrown in for good measure.

She's such a beautiful little girl.

  2. Dear Carmel,
oh, I wish you a happy New Year! You have such a nice, beautiful family.
Sometimes I feel like homesick when I am at work...

Christmas time at the beach... a dream!

Love to you and your beloved

    1. Ariane, I get homesick at work and think about how much I miss the Solid Gold Dancers, and then I get home and wish I was back at work! Christmas at the beach would be quite surreal for you I'd imagine, but then I think I'd literally freeze if we had snow! I wouldn't know what to do! Kisses to your lot!

    1. Dear Dana,
Happy New Year to you. I wonder of there's a secret Japanese Dollar Mart in Texas?! I know there's a great MC furniture store!

    1. Debbish, we're in the middle of some freakish heatwave with crazy rough surf and bush fires in the southern states. I can't imagine minus 13.

New au pair does start soon. I'm in the midst of washing sheets and ironing table cloths! The Solid Gold Dancers are growing up very quickly. I think they'll all be taller than me soon.

    1. Helsy, Martha wants to be a fairy or a princess when she grows up. I said she could be both. The MCM houses on the Coast are cool. So close to the beach too. And they've been there almost since day dot!

  6. Your holiday looked so relaxing. My Mum used to take us to the GC most spring holidays and they are the best memories of childhood...
You must all be so sad about H leaving. Very hard to say good-bye.
