Here's mud in your eyes, Readers!
You know those blog 'linky-posts' bloggers do? Every-so-often some blogger will come up with an idea and then a lot of other bloggers tag-along?
Well, I don't usually partake in them. I don't know why. I have nothing against them.
Maybe it's because by the time it takes me to work out what to do, the next linky-thing is up and then I'm behind the eight-ball, and things just get unmanageable and pointless.
But, today I've linked-up ... and the lovely lady with whom I've up-linked, doesn't even realise she's written a linky-thing.
Before you read on, you should read the initial post by Mid-Century Madam ... HERE.
So, here's our 'William the Hippo' Metropolitan Museum of Art's-take on the Egyptian faience antiquity.
For me, this shirt always packs a "GAG-FACTOR-OF-10" punch!
ROAR!!!
Did you see that?
Who knew Egyptian ceramics from 1981-1885BC could be so much fun?
Link-up if you have an hilarious modern-marketing-take on an ancient piece of artwork.

Very impressive! When I was at school I made my own ceramic replica if that hippo. It's an amazing piece. The tshirt is the most unusual interpretation I've ever seen. Who said antiquities have no sense of humor?
ReplyDeleteWho knew that you and Martha were so high- brow? Love the hippo and the shirt and the very scathing post about op shops with ebay prices. Hear hear to it all.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen a lift the flap tee before, but I like it very much. SO funny! I've only an African hippo; not turquoise, and not lift the flap. You can meet him at the hippo highbrow tea party, when I finish the reno.
ReplyDeleteAm I the last person in the world to know about William? Did you know William has his own Facebook page? I'm really out of the high-brow-antiquities loop. Martha looks stunning in her Willy tee. Roar! I'm with you on the linky things, I can never figure them out. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeletehee.
ReplyDeleteI'm just pleased to see another toddler wearing T shirts and cotton skirts in the depths of winter. Maybe I should sew entertaining antiquities on all her jumpers! Linky shpinky- I still can't work out how to download photos off the latest piece of i-gadgetry at our house.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the lift-the-flap tshirts with aust animals at the markets - but yours is admittedly much cooler than that. And Martha loves it too! A stylista in the making. At two (or nearly two?). There is no hope for us.
ReplyDeletehey there
ReplyDeletenice sewing job, id like that kinda dress in my size! :)
i pictured a bow tie for you the other day. just didnt get around to post it.
