I said it'd never happen ...

I woke today to be told by Child 2 that it was library day, and he couldn't find his library book.

When Child 1 started school, I promised myself that we would never lose a library book, and that we would return every book ever borrowed, on time, every time.

I was not going to let this morning be the undoing of my unblemished record of fastidious returns.

So everyone was made search for the said book, which I had seen floating about the house during the past week, and which I don't think was actually read.
