For the past* few days, I've been logging onto the Hurtigruten website and watching the live footage of the MS Nord Norge's journey up the Norwegian coastline from Bergen to Kirkenes.
I'm hoping to see some Norwegians waving at me from the water's edge, but that hasn't happened yet.
It's just beautiful and so relaxing to watch. Anyone travelled this journey before?
Right now for instance, I think I'm viewing the setting of the mid-night sun. Would that be right?
You'd better hurry, the footage finishes on June 22! Exciting times.
*Zigsma? (Zigsma knows her passed/past uses.)
Interesting. Is this a study avoidance ploy????
ReplyDeleteThe most beautiful part of our beautiful world.
ReplyDeleteDeb,
ReplyDeletemaybe, maybe not. Why? What else have you got distraction-wise?
DMC,
time for a cruise.
I think my uncle (who used to work for the Holland-America line) set up this route. I know he has been on the Hurtigruten several times!
ReplyDeleteIn other news, yes, I would love to just sit and wait for the beginning of our trip. I hate this stressful time before hand... Breathe! ;-)
You passed!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a very good way to waste time. Is it just me or is everything backwards and turned around on this here blog. Are you trying to keep us on our toes or confuse us ?
ReplyDeleteKatherine,
ReplyDeleteI changed things around. I got bored and wished I had some desktop publishing skills, but I don't.
Jealous much, my parents have done a few Norwegian cruises!! I went on a cruise around the Greek Isles this time last year, our captain was Norwegian, close, but no cigar. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping over. Reverse Garbage used to be at West End but recently moved to 20 Burke St Woolloongabba which is near the PA Hospital and entry to the Clem Jones tunnel. They also run kids program on school holidays but we just love ferretting through the obscurities. melx
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I could afford would be waving from land, but my son has gone several times (of course). It looks incredible, but I know it would have made me restless...

What will you do If a Swede waves at you?? smile
ReplyDeletethis is very cool, but oooo, i'm feeling a bit seasick...
ReplyDeleteOh lord, I'm completely hooked on the Hurtigruten webcam, cheesy Norwegian music and all. I can hardly believe it's live, so varied and clever is the mixing of the shots. They must have someone permanently on hand to choose which camera angle they show, do you think? Or is it all a canny (and very long) recording?
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteI know. I found myself brushing children away this morning prior to breakfast because I was watching the video and listening to the 'hostess' say something in a whole lot of different languages that I couldn't understand. I think she was saying they were about to view the 'highight' of the trip, but I had to go and make warm milos and toast.
the midnight sun is amazing...ill add this norwegian costal trip on the list after a road trip of northern sweden. need to start by getting to know my home base after all.
ReplyDeleteand i like your new look on the blog horsey. very nice indeed.
and she's back! with a new look! :)
ReplyDeleteso glad.

goodluck with the new nanny and your new career!

Oh hilarious. I felt just like a Norwegian Kate Winslet for a few minutes there. Thanks for the moment! xx
ReplyDeleteMany days have passed since I've looked at Blogs. You look at unusual things to pass the time. It's half past seven. Good morning!
ReplyDeleteR&S,
ReplyDeletethat cruise is finished now, so I don't know if you'll see much on that link. But you can watch it if you like.
