What would you do?

If you found $700 or, let's be a tad more specific, $695 or $715, under the kitchen table or coughed up by the poodle, would you buy ...

A Georg Jensen bangle, like so?



(Statement Danish sterling-silver pieces are up there with a Signature Fragrance in my book).

Or a leather butterfly chair, such as in this photo?


I'm not sure which one I'd choose. 

Bangle or the chair? 

Chair or the bangle?

Lucky I don't have $700.

(It was little Alice's funeral today. I didn't go. I made some sandwiches and what-not for the Wake, but I spent the day thinking of her parents and of her siblings, and the anguish and emptiness they must be feeling. My heart goes out to them.)

    Firstly, that's such sad news about little Alice. Gosh, my heart goes out to her family. That's so terribly sad.
    I agree with you about signature jewellery pieces but I still don't know what I'd choose. Maybe the bangle? Lucky I don't have $700 either :)
    ps I hope bobbi from the lazy designer sent you her address? She really could do with some Tim Tams. A great idea :)

    It must be terribly sad for you all. I'd hate to imagine what your friends must be going through...
    And in answer to your question, I'd choose the butterfly chair.

    I went to a funeral yesterday too so I can sympathise. I hope your friends find some comfort somewhere, somehow. I'd go for the bangle :)

    Oh Carmel. I went to a funeral last week but for an elderly person, not a child. I can't imagine how her dear parents must be feeling. How horrid. As for me, I'd be plumping for the bangle. No question! J x

    I'd chose the bangle, you can always sit on the floor!
    Poor Alice's family, I hope she's resting in peace. I met a family this week who lost their 3yr old to leukemia ('lost' sounds so wrong doesn't it?) 4weeks before their daughter (3rd child) was born. Can you imagine? I can't, they were doing amazing as well! They would have appreciated the food and know you were thinking of them (ok, have to go, getting teary now).

    Squeeze the poodle for another $700 and get both because I can't choose. "I shall take all your best signature items and a GJ collar for my generous poodle friend, thanking you."

    That Georg Jensen bangle is wonderful and so is the chair. Though I would choose the bangle - I love a bit of silver wrist bling.

    So sorry about Alice, but she is now free from pain. Unlike her parents and siblings who must be suffering terribly. My heart also goes out to them. Cx

    Oh no - that poor little girl - and what an ordeal for her family... what they must be going through, it's too hard...

    Oh, I'm torn... I fell in love with that bangle at first sight but I've also always wanted a butterfly chair... Sigh..

    I can't go to funerals anymore.
    My grief would be entirely private.
    Alice's family will never be the same.

    I would definitely choose the chair ... I always choose comfort (though in saying that perhaps the poodle could cough up enough for the bangle too?) ;)

    Oh the chair, i'm not huge on jewellery & the chair is for more people/ easier to write off as a non selfish purchase.
    Um, driving up South Pine Road Enoggera i saw a sign at the local Catholic School saying "Alice in God's arms" or something similar, same Alice, i meant to investigate?? Love Posie
