M is for ...

There is a lot of 'M' going on here at the moment.

Mirror ... Someone spends a lot of time in front of one.

She festoons herself with ribbons. I had to remove the drawer which contained, what I loosely-term as 'jewellery', as that was also being used as multi-layered adornments.

Mac Makeup ... someone else has been playing with this new makeup.

I suspect the culprit is a six-year-old boy.

Because when asked, he and his flawless complexion, laughed and ran away.

Moisturiser ... As you know I've had a run-in with facial sun damage, so we're trialing this Invisible Zinc Moisturiser/Sun block which was found in the Pandora's Box that is the cosmetics floor of David Jones.

Marx's Manifesto ... I don't know who pulled this out of the bookshelves to peruse its political
propaganda ...

Mess ... The irony about the Communist Manifesto is that no one around here does any work ... which, from my memory, is a prerequisite for a proletariat uprising.

Moomin mobile ... I wish I was aware of when Martha was a wee-one ... from here.

Miffy-ish things, as Miffy starts with 'M' and we all love her ... from here.

Mid-Century website ... here. This site will allow you to identify your Danish Mid-Century furniture. Unfortunately, you have to pay for the privilege of doing so. The Internet has made me too used to free information on-tap.

  2. Your writing is always a delight ... and provides many giggles along the way.

You are a much braver soul than I - the cosmetics floor of David Jones scares the bejesus out of me! ;)

  3. Just discovered your blog, went back to the beginning and discovered a shared love of vintage fisher price little people sets.... We have the ferry boat and the dump trucks with balls as well as few in common. Laughed and laughed over your staged scenes at airports etc. Saving reading the remaining several hundred posts for a night when I'm really cranky to redeem my mood.

  6. I love how Horsey is studying Martha as she attempts to turn a belt into a necklace. Horsey take note...it might just be the next groovy look...the Neckbelt sans spikes.

  8. Just had to share this little snippet with you: Last night as I served chicken pie at the table, second daughter stated "Make mine right in the middle of the plate please Mum". Eight year old son stated "Make mine mid century".
Obviously been keeping up with my blogging habits.

  9. Brismod,
they make girls differently to boys ... it's a bit of a shock to have a member of the household so transfixed with ribbons and necklaces and mirrors.

    Tracey,
thank you. I keep going back to DJs and being drawn to the cosmetics floor ... so many products!

    Bungalow girl,
I like your site too. I wonder if I should put one of those categorisation/topic lists on the side? That should only take a few days.

    Deb,
Mmmm, worth mentioning. Glad to see you're mindful of March.

    Annie,
    can't wait for the mmmeeting.

MCM, Now that we haev two Horseys, they're turning up everywhere!

    Snoop, Hello.

    Fiona,
What prodigies you have! I laughed at both their comments! How funny is your eight-year-old?! I'm happy to mentor him on teak and Scandinavian ceramics and 'form equals function' etc, if he wants. I haven't been to your place for a while ... I'm going over there now.

  11. Katherine,
the other day on Sesame Street, Snuffy had a magic ukelele which turned him invisible ... "I'm invisible, Bird" ... so at the next garage sale you're at, they may well have a Snuffaluffagus, you just won't be able to see him.
