It's like The Hilton

Well, not Paris. Exactly.

But Grandad! He's come to stay!

I'd like to say that Grandad is an heir to a string of international hotels ... but I don't think he is ... though he hasn't told me he's not.

 The similarity to Paris is that Grandad carries his dog around in a bag!

Yes, he does!

 Grandad asked why he was sitting next to a lot a 'sexy dolls' ...
I think we'll discard them. They're hideous things. I think those other two little plastic ones have been quaffing a bit of Grandad's vino ...

I suspect Grandad thinks that not many people know there's a dog in his bag ... but I suspect a lot of people have cottoned-on because the little dog barks and squirms when he's in the bag ... but Grandad's deaf and doesn't hear him.

It's a bit like Paris being oblivious to the packin' the wacky tobacky.

Other than that, we've been 'read'.

That kid likes to 'read'. And she only vocalises verbs. Apologies for the badly lit room.

And I've been cleaning cupboards ...

 I have a lot of frenetic, nervous energy at the moment. For some reason.

So I've also been trying to arrange my books according to hue ...

Blues ...

Yellows ... can't really get the yellows right ...

But, a great ol' pal gave me this book (I'm still sewing those damn pyjama pants) ... But have now embarked on a Scandinavian sewing frenzy!

I'm probably going to lose a lot of readers after this post!

  1. I am in complete awe of that immaculate pantry, I've got a pantry that could use a good going over, if you happen to be in the area. And don't forget, do not mention Ken to Barbies who have been on the turps. x

  2. Dog-in-a-a-bag :)
    Cupboard-cleaning is coming up here as well. Feel like I have to get ready for christmas. Makes it all better cooking in the kitchen when everything is organized. I love reading about a tidy cupboard. You´ve still got one reader... L. :)

  3. Good God. I'm impressed by the pantry and the books. I'm only getting 'the necessaries' done at the moment, and not a dot of 'spring cleaning'. Wish my little one would 'read' instead of constantly wanting to be picked up, or stealing yogurt from the fridge. Hence the pantry is once again moth-infested and I haven't yet done anything about it. Much more fun reading blogs about Paris Hilton wannabes. Cheers.

  6. You must be having a Tupperware party at your place. The last time my pantry looked that neat was just before I had one at my place! And how much is that doggy in the baggy?

  7. You still have three readers at least. I love the dog in a bag, so cute. How does Noodle get on with him? We have some of the same books! Now on to clean my pantry. You are such an inspiration!
    I suppose M is read at a 1st grade level by now?!

  9. Hey, we've got the same Tupperware! Separated at birth, no doubt...

    Your color coded books are impressive, and terrifying.

  10. That Scandinavian stitches looks like a good one. I love your Dad he looks so cute! My Pops got bit by a spider and his whole arm is swelled up, I think he's off to the Doctor today!

  11. I'm not a doctor, but OCD may be developing. Nice vintage doggy bag (and I don't mean the food variety). I hope Grandad is enjoying his stay.

  12. i am envious of your pantry shelves. A- that they are clean and organized and B-that they exist. My tiny kitchen needs help.
    Also, I have that same "The Photo Book". Great minds...

  13. How can he be your grandad; he looks like he's 65. My grandad was born in 1902... you can imagine what he would have looked like today. You Australians... there's something fishy going on... Better send Martha to Norway, and bring the dog!

    Isn't it fun, when I try to be funny? I should go to bed and stop to bother nice people who lives very far away...

  14. So many comments, so I'll make a general response ...

    1) The pantry is now messy again;
    2) that Scandinavian sewing book is good;
    2)'Grandad' is my father ... he's 77, I think.
