Readers' Contributions

You know I love a Reader's comment ... it spurs me on!

Occasionally, one, or a couple of you Readers, will contact me personally ... Yes! It happens ... and Child 4 passes the email onto me! Child 4 is very concerned about spam.

Here's a couple of recent feedbacks I've had ...

1. One Reader, while searching for Poppy Seeds to make the Poppy Seed and Berry Cake, said she'd been propositioned by a dreadlocked Rastafarian in an English supermarket!

That'll either have you rushing out the door to your local Coles, or have you swearing you'll never buy poppy seeds ... ever, man.

2. Another Reader thinks we should all meet around one of these one evening ... or maybe, on more than one occasion ...

Photo c/o Apartment Therapy.

It's a BYOC ... you Bring Your Own Container to the supermarket (would never happen in Australia) ... use the hose and fill said container with your choice of red, white or rose wine. At $2USD a litre, methinks that's a great idea.

Squiffed Reader suggests we don't even have to leave the supermarket ... one of us just needs to bring the Woolies' Camembert cheese, another the Jatz crackers, and we just position the pump-dispenser-hose over the plastic cups that someone else has brought ... and then the children can push us home in a shopping trolley.

Good idea in my books.

  1. That's waaaaay too funny. I'm thinking, if this existed in Oz, people would be assuming the free ranging position with their mouths over the tap! Not a pretty sight at all - very bogan actually but I think it would be inevitable if introduced here! But hey, other than that...(was going to say that would be the minority but watching the footy crowd at the moment...thinking they may be majority) slight set back, think its a great idea!

  2. Let me know when to meet up with you lot. Child 4 is a keeper! Is there anything she can't do?!

  3. Between Child#4 and Horsey, all bases are covered.
I was thinking that the very public wine tap would eliminate silent drinkers. No ?

  4. Child 4 will send out a group email when this is up and running.

And we can throw poppy seeds about like confetti and see what sorts we can attract.

  5. I am guessing by the comment on the wine you haven't been to drayton's winery in the Hunter. They sell sport and other things in 20 litre drums. Bit more than $2US a litre but hey it is from the hunter so must be the good stuff.

Almost seems a good idea but I saw what a slow leak did to the floor in the store.

They have the most amazing white port.
