Remember this ...
And this?
Well, they should be heading my way sometime soon.
I asked the Husband to cast his eyes over said beauties and, while he was doing so, I became slightly lamentable and suggested I thought the 4xChilds were losing their appetites and developing a general malaise which could clearly be attributed to their lacking an appreciation of the handcrafted Italian aesthetic in their domestic environ ...
The Husband heartily agreed and said, "Just shut up and buy the bloody things!"
So I did!
And in doing so, I have also eliminated the stress associated with deciding 'What's for dinner?' because all the budget can now stretch to during the next month is Two Minute noodles for everybody!
Anyway, my Holland-ish source (!) said this about his collection:
"The Bitossi vases are from my own and my grandmother's collection. I would love to keep each and every piece, but my apartment is just too small, so I decided to sell them (but then I also start buying again...). My grandma has moved to a home, so I had to clean out her storage and then I found all these forgotten treasures!!
"I have lots of other nice pieces coming up, some beautiful German porcelain vases, some Danish ceramics, as well as some mid-century and retro lighting!"
To which I'd reply, "Goodness, my house is small, but I wouldn't sell the kids!"

Exciting.
ReplyDeleteBut I do notice that you don't get as many comments on your ceramic posts as you do on you plastice posts.
I think the ceramics leave people speechless.
ReplyDeleteBravo the purchase. Excellent multitasking, shopping, destressing and menu planning in one click of the button.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid to look at his shop - if there is anything left.
Reader 3,
ReplyDeleteI've done my dash in terms of purchases from the Netherlands. He has an incredible range, and he said he's putting some Dutch ceramics on which are a bit more subtle and clean than the Bitossi. I am always nervous about the treatment these packages will receive from the various postage services!
The other ETSY store which is worth a look, but is quite expensive, is 'mascarajones'. She has an interesting range of mid-century jewellery.
Reader 3,
ReplyDeleteyou have a suspiciously dry and familiar tone, but I don't know who you are. Damn it!
Grandma is gettin' cleaned out by the sounds of it. I wonder if she knows?
ReplyDeleteyeah grandma actually asked me to!
ReplyDeleteShe also has a huge 50s chandelier, but I don't know if I should put that one up for sale...I would be so worried shipping it, since it has such a big glass bowl.
beebleboy,
ReplyDeleteI think you need to put a photo of the chandelier on your site. Or maybe you need to buy a bigger apartment so you can house all your things!
