Toss, toss away!

Three Readers, I'm not having a good day today.

I'm agitated, frustrated and opinionated (No, I'm not opinionated I just wanted to use another 'ated' word, and that was the first to come to mind).

Last night, I had a slight breakdown when I realised I was drowning in stuff. From my Psych 101 days, I think it's referred to as 'cognitive dissonance' where you feel discomfort from holding two conflicting ideas eg you may enjoy smoking, but know its bad for you.

Well, I have all this rubbish, but I can't throw it away for fear I could need it or because its made of porcelain.

Enough! I set about this morning to tackle it - but once I started it just seemed to worsen.

See, I found these in a box from the Land of Grandad - 12x Hummingbirds of the World cups and saucers in fine Bavarian porcelain. And look, there's another sneaky beer stein. I don't need them. I don't want them. Let's be honest, I don't like them.

And then I unwrapped these. Bitossi they ain't. I don't like Wedgwood Jasper series. There's an Ebay market - but I think I'd better check with my mother first. Though these have been hidden in a shed for the past 10 years, so does she really need them?

So, then I had to make Child 4 lunch. She likes to listen to some tunes while she dines. I turned on my 11-year-old CD player. Its job description is narrow -  play CDs. But today, like many other days and after a service at Christmas, it decides not to 'recognise' the CDs. That's not good enough. Be Gone!

After that, I then charged into the bathroom to confront what has been playing on my conscience for some time.

I wreaked some havoc on the mouldy bath toys - Be Gone!

Look at that duck! Disney's Toy Story trilogy has a lot to answer for because I know as soon as I shut the bin lid on these, they'll start plotting my downfall.

I couldn't do much more. Child 4 is refusing to sleep ... she's uneasy at the sudden purging.

The dog keeps following me ... I think he just wants food.

And Child 3 knows something's afoot. He's watching me like a Black Hawk helicopter.

And they're next!

  2. I'm with you on the bath toys - my kids now have 3 small plastic boats (from coles) left. Makes way for more as birthday gifts which is good. And yep, toss the CD player and get a little docking station - they're terrific. But oh, the teacups... they are lovely. And that's a problem.

Good luck. I'm doing similar today!
