This arrived in the mail the other day. I was expecting it.
The husband said he'd expect it to have been new ... a little beauty like this? New? No siree!
They don't make craft books like THIS anymore.
Let me share a little from the 1972 Better Homes and Gardens Gifts to Make Yourself book ...
"Better Homes and Gardens Gifts to Make Yourself is a product of the times".
"With all the push-button appliances, convenience foods, and shorter work weeks, most people have increased leisure time. With this additional free time, along with a growing emphasis on ecology, people are rediscovering nature and realising some of the advantages of 'The Good Old Days'.
"If you are one of the millions of people who have the hoarding tendencies of a pack rat, you'll be able to sit right down to work on any of these projects. Somewhere in your house, you already have boxes of fabric and yarn scraps".
I'm nothing, if not a pack rat, and I think one of my future projects will be making one of these dolls for Child 4.
But that's as soon as I somehow unhook my crocheted gloves from my crocheted helmet.

Not sure how the crocheted look will go down in the new millenium.
ReplyDeleteBtw procrastinating much?
The Peko-Wallsend High Court case about Ministerial discretion, and a failure to consider material facts in making a decision, being judicially reviewable isn't really doing it for me.
ReplyDeleteMaterial as in crochet?
ReplyDeletePrecisely! Do I use paddle-pop sticks or brushed cotton to make my retro-inspired gift that may have common law legal implications?
