Post card banditos.

Three Readers,
seems I can't do a post without some kind of prop ... and, as the 70s plastic playthings are dwindling right before my eyes, I think we'll look at a few old postcards I've received during my short life.

I think I bought this in Germany (germ)many years ago. It's entitled 'Autobahnsau' which has helped me, more recently, decipher what BMW and Mercedes Benz drivers yell at me when I'm 'Sunday cruisin' on the Centenary Highway ...

If I was holidaying in Hawaii, I'd send postcards too. A lot of my postcards come from the same person ... she did a lot of hot-footing-about while I stayed at home minding the proverbial fort.

Oh, this one came from my younger sister. She was my little sister then. She missed me!
I just missed a trip to Hawaii. No ... I would have missed the little tacker.

This one just makes me laugh. I hope you can read it.

I bought this when I was living in London. It's the story of my life.

We've already explored my Beat Generation issues ...

You also make history when you invade other countries, but I don't have a postcard for that.

I like this one because of its 60s link ... and also I laugh because my friend circled the word 'gay'!

Hola! The matador's pants, and stance, leave me askance.

When I was in Grade 10, we had an excursion to the Qld Art Gallery. I remember seeing a Jeffrey Smart painting of a bus driver between two buses. It was the only painting I liked. I promised myself that I'd own a Jeffrey Smart one day. I'm settling for the postcard, thank you very much.

My husband rides his bike to work. He does the above signal to female cyclists as they speed passed screaming, "Get outta the way, fat arse!"
I say to him, when he recounts such interactions, "That's a bit rude of you".
He says, lips a-trembling, voice breaking, "I think they're a bit rude".

I'll leave the ethical conundrum to you ...

And I think Cliff sent this one to me himself!

PS I'm not sure where this blog's going. I think I've lost focus. Send me a postcard with your thoughts.
