These are the judgments I didn't read. I didn't need them in retrospect. Or maybe I did?
That either indicates I did really well. Or really badly! A glass of wine may help me work that one out.
Anyway, I'm sick of Law. Who needs it? Blah! Let's get onto something a little more interesting which I feel has been lacking for a while in this blog - mid-70s plastics!
Here's a horse which I put out to graze this afternoon. He's one of those toys which you'll see somewhere in the house looking like this ...
Then he'll look like this ...
And then, I'll find him in this position!
But enough equine examination, let's get onto things you'd never do in winter ... and that's go camping! Unless it's with the Fisher Price Play Family Camper.
You know my thoughts on camping ... and boating. I hate both! We used to live on a river and my father used to make us all go out in the tinny. It would take ages for us all to get in. It would rock back-and-forth; its sides dipping closer and closer to the water's edge.
It would always leak slowly through the hole in its base which was plugged loosely with a cork. And the motor would conk out when we were in the middle of the river, and my short life would play itself out quickly before my little blue, teary eyes!
Oh Daaad! (He's on the toilet)
The beds need some replacement mattresses, as the foam's disintegrated ...
Hey! No horsing about in the campervan!
Finally, here's a picture of Child 4 sporting another Liberty number. She's with her favourite piece of rubber - Sophie. Poor Sophie's spots have all been sucked off. I don't think Sophie will be around in 20 years' time.
I heard on the radio that no one has worked out how to preserve rubber ... so many of the items in museums from WWI and so on, are all starting to disintegrate, and curators can't do anything about it!
How fun to come across a lovely blog like yours! Just found you through Mon Petit Poppet and I'm so glad I did. I love your collection of toys, and had a good laugh at Dad on the dunny and the horse in his 'pose'. Thanks for cheering me up, it's been one of those days xo
ReplyDeleteOh beck, just stop! This blog is stupid. But I'm glad you like it. Other than you, it's my mother and sister. Tomorrow will be better. To bed!
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday night! Which means Mon'day' has happened. You are through to the other side. well done. Enjoy the wine.
ReplyDeleteI look at that pile of judgement unread and I see glorious scrap paper, works of art, paper planes, tissues at a push, shopping lists ...
Oh I loved that campervan set, if only because our real one didn't seem nearly as roomy, and only had enough room for a four beds, and being the fifth member of the family my nights were spent in a hammock slung above the toilet and sink. I had thought that if we had the Fisher Price campervan for real I could always cosy up in the boat/removable roof.
Just to clarify that the toilet and sink were separate, just veryyyy close.
R3,
ReplyDeletethe judgments have been earmarked for kindy. Expect to see same on the rear of a naive-style drawing of you, or someone else you love, brought home soon.
In your real campervan you should've kicked out the horse and you would've had more room. They were idyllic days and you loved them!
Removable boats only end-up in the bottom of someone's pool at their 21st birthday party.
Well done you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy looking horse. But I do believe he would be happier with his border collie friend in the red barn, rather than a campervan with Dad stinking out the toilet.
